+LIFEGUARD MINI 1 PORTABLE CHARGER Review #pluslifeguard

I recently acquired an iPod Touch… well, by recent I mean for Christmas. I still don’t know how to use the darn thing too much. I’m still using a basic phone, so apps whatnot are not my forte. But even not using it as much as I should, the battery drains very quickly. When I received the +Lifeguard Mini Charger, I knew it would save me from embarrassing myself in the line at Dunkin Donuts when I try to use my app and the battery has died. Again.

What I liked about this product is that it is nice and portable, it fits right in one of my purse pockets. It’s also very pleasing ascetically. I was able to get the pink but for those of you who want to be a little more inconspicuous with your portable chargers, it comes in a variety of colors. I also liked that it held a charge just as much my regular charger. No more, no less. It’s also a pretty durable and sturdy product.

Here are some of the specs to help you decide if this is the right charger for you:

  • Lithium Ion Battery
  • About 3.8″ long
  • Apple certified Lightning Cable included
  • Money Back Guarantee

Overall, I’m really happy with this charger and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick fix to your device charging needs!

Adeline Anti-Aging Moisturizer Review #adeline

I was pretty excited when I found out I was approved to test out Adeline’s Anti-Aging Moisturizer. I use cream daily anyway and I’m always looking for a product that is better or slightly improves than the one I’m currently using.

cream

Here are some of the specs about Adeline’s Anti-Aging Cream:

  • Adeline’s Anti-Aging Face Cream is formulated with 5 powerful ingredients that fight wrinkles and rejuvenate your skin: Matrixyl, Witch Hazel, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C & Vitamin E.

  • Handmade in USA

  • Paraben Free

  • No added fragrances, additives or fillers

My skin has noticeably improved in the 2 weeks that I’ve been using the product. It gives my face a smooth, moist feeling. It has a minty aroma that I love, and it has a cooling, tingly feeling as I apply it. While it has only been 2 week, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a daily moisturizer.

Review: Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Camera

For one of my most recent parties, I held a Steampunk Murder Mystery. When planning for the party, I was trying to decide what some of our activities would be. One day, while browsing the internet, I came across this little camera:

instax

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Camera. This camera will print instant photos, polaroid-esque style, revealing the picture in about 90 seconds after it prints. Perfect for Mugshots for the murder mystery! Also a great piece for anyone longing for the good old days when Polaroids were all the rage. A little piece of history revamped for modern day.

Now, the camera itself is not very mini measuring in at about 4.5″x4.5″. The pictures, on the other hand, are. Photos with the white border measure about 2″x3.75″, making the photo itself only 1.75″x2.5″. Pretty tiny. But what can you expect from a camera that clearly states “mini”.

Here is a sample of the photos. One is my mug shot/glamour shot and the other of my grandson cheesing it up for the camera. Quality is pretty good as far as instant photos are concerned. I noticed if you are too close, the flash washes out the face. Too far and you don’t get as much detail. But nothing I would complain about, just tricks to taking better photos.

These aren’t cameras for “real” photos anyway. They are great, on the other hand, for parties and weddings. Because film costs so much and you only get 10 per pack, don’t go wasting them on random crap (like my grandson, LOL). But it’s fun to see his excitement when the photo develops right in front of his eyes. That makes it worth it!

Would I recommend this product? Yes! Especially if you are looking for something fun for a party or wedding. They make great party favors!

Making Polymer Clay Beads by Carol Blackburn

Although I’m not into making Polymer clay beads I really like this book, Making Polymer Clay Beads by Carol Blackburn. Its a paper back instruction book of 128 pages and retails for $24.95 or $17.36 on Amazon.com.

This book is great for the Polymer Clay beginner for seasoned artist. It starts with describing the many tools you may need or want to work effectively with the clay. It has detailed pictures and instructions on ‘how-to’ make canes, from simple rolls to a beautiful kaleidoscope, that can then be layered over beads of any shape. I love this because making canes that are interesting and balanced is very hard indeed. There are many ideas and examples in easy to follow step by step instructions with illustrations.

It continues with techniques of ‘how-to’ make polymer clay look like wood, leather, coral, abalone, jade, turquoise, and onyx, just to name a few. These make wonderful beads or whatever an artist can imagine.

It then demonstrates how to assemble beads into jewelry and finishes with a gallery of fantastic completed pieces of art done by accomplished artists.

I find that this book is helpful with design ideas and I would recommend this book to any one interested in polymer clay, beading or design.

Steampunkery – The Polymer Clay and Mixed Media Craft Book

My daughter gave me this book for Christmas last year. I love the step by step instructions with pictures for polymer clay and mixed media projects. This book is fun and informative. It is made with sturdy glossy card stock paper, which is nice but makes it hard to keep the book open to the page as you’re following the directions. The pictures are colorful and detailed. There are great projects and ideas for different degrees of abilities for any crafters. The author Christi Friesen is imaginative, creative, talented and funny. There are quirky footnotes and amusing stories throughout the instructions. This book is a lot of fun.

The only problem with the book is that it is coming apart because the card stock pages are not able to bend easy at the binding. The other books by this author (This is the 8th) are made with regular gloss paper and hold together much better and also have beautiful illustrations.

But I give it 4 1/2 suns out of 5.   ☼☼☼☼1/2
