A few weeks ago (Sept 4-7) I was a vendor at the Supernatural Convention in Whippany New Jersey. This television show on the CW has been a favorite with my family since 2005 when it premiered on Sept 13th. My daughter, Holly and I sold my handmade pins and magnets from all Sci-Fi genre including Supernatural, Dr. Who, Firefly as well as Sherlock, steampunk, Harry Potter and (yes) My Little Ponies. It was a prosperous weekend as well as fun and entertaining. Met lots of interesting fans of the show and got to go to a few of the panels hosted by the stars of the show. We had a fabulous time the karaoke night and enjoyed the Cabaret show. It was a rewarding experience and we hope to do it again.

Pirate Captain Jack
Jack O’ Lantern Pins
This week the pumpkin Jack O’ Lanterns are polymer clay pins that I have made. Each has its own personality. Each appeals to a variety of different people. Each one is fun in its own way. Halloween is an exciting and fun holiday for everyone, the young and the older child in all of us.
My daughter gave me this book for Christmas last year. I love the step by step instructions with pictures for polymer clay and mixed media projects. This book is fun and informative. It is made with sturdy glossy card stock paper, which is nice but makes it hard to keep the book open to the page as you’re following the directions. The pictures are colorful and detailed. There are great projects and ideas for different degrees of abilities for any crafters. The author Christi Friesen is imaginative, creative, talented and funny. There are quirky footnotes and amusing stories throughout the instructions. This book is a lot of fun.
The only problem with the book is that it is coming apart because the card stock pages are not able to bend easy at the binding. The other books by this author (This is the 8th) are made with regular gloss paper and hold together much better and also have beautiful illustrations.
But I give it 4 1/2 suns out of 5. ☼☼☼☼1/2
